The company was found guilty of committing a crime provided for in Part 2 of Article 13.50 of the Administrative Code (failure to fulfill obligations by the owner of a social network). “The court imposed an administrative penalty in the form of an administrative fine in the amount of 3.5 million rubles,” the press service noted.

The maximum penalty for legal entities under this article is 4 million rubles.

Last week it became known that Discord could be blocked in Russia. Since September 20, Roskomnadzor has submitted five orders to the platform. They can become a reason for blocking the platform under the law “On information technologies and information protection”, as follows from the data on the registration of banned sites.

On September 18, Discord experienced a technical issue. Most Russians experienced no connection issues on both the web version and the mobile app. A week later, Russian users again reported a malfunction in the messenger. There were problems opening the application and connecting to the Internet.

Also on September 30, the Tagansky Court found Google guilty of a crime provided for in Part 2 of Article 13.41 of the Administrative Code (violation of the procedure for restricting access to information). She was also fined 3.5 million rubles.
