WhatsApp has finally announced the arrival of personalized filters and backgrounds for video calls this Tuesday (01). As expected in Beta versions of WhatsApp, the filters are very similar to Instagram filters. THE tool modifies the capture with different tones and effectsIt makes the conversation more dynamic.

Backgrounds are also similar to the feature in Google Meet and many other video conferencing platforms: user can change the content displayed behindnot only to make chat easier, but also to improve call quality.

According to WhatsApp, there are ten filter options. These:

  • Warm;
  • Cold;
  • Black and white;
  • light beam;
  • Dream;
  • Prism light;
  • fish eye;
  • old television;
  • Frozen glass;
  • Two tons.

There are also ten options for backgrounds:

  • Blurry;
  • Sitting room;
  • Desk;
  • Coffee;
  • rocks;
  • Snacks;
  • Soft;
  • Beach;
  • Sunset;
  • Celebration;
  • Forest.

Another new feature announced by Messenger is Retouching and low light options. These two tools give a “touch to the image” and increase the clarity of the environment.

Filter and background options can be accessed from a button in the upper right corner of the screen during a video call. You can turn them on or off at any time during the chat.

THE WhatsApp did not specify when the new feature will be released to everyonebut said it would arrive in the next few weeks. Stay tuned for messenger updates on Play Store and App Store.
