The new model will be the first update to the SE line since 2022, the publication notes. The smartphone should receive support for the Apple Intelligence artificial intelligence platform, which the company introduced in June 2024.

The current SE model costs $429, which is more expensive than its Android competitors, Bloomberg notes. The updated smartphone is expected to be similar to more expensive iPhones, which will allow Apple to compete in the budget phone market, the agency writes.

Other devices

According to Bloomberg sources, almost simultaneously with the SE, Apple plans to launch new iPad Air lines with internal improvements and Magic Keyboards for the 11 and 13-inch versions of the new Air.

Probably, at the end of 2024, the American company will also present an updated iPad mini, the publication’s interlocutors added.

An Apple spokesperson declined to comment to Bloomberg.

  • In 2024, the agency wrote, Apple will launch Mac mini, MacBook Pro and iMac with the latest M4 processor and support for Apple Intelligence. The M4 chip will appear in MacBook Air, Mac Studio and Mac Pro in 2025.
