The Deposit Insurance Agency (DIA) has repaid more than 90% of the debt to Qiwi Bank’s creditors, reports the DIA Telegram channel. The organization allocated more than 33.2 billion rubles to meet the requirements.

“Thus, as of October 1, 2024, the agreements with most of the bank’s creditors were completed,” the statement reads.

The agreements with creditors of the third stage of Qiwi Bank were extended until October 18, 2024. Likewise, the agency is currently receiving new claims from creditors, the DIA reported that it will consider and satisfy them within the deadlines established by law. “On Insolvency (Bankruptcy)”.

The organization added that in some cases it is impossible to transfer money quickly due to incomplete or incorrect bank details. To correct information, the DIA recommends using the sample forms and statements posted on the bank’s page on the DIA website.

In June 2024, 64,000 creditors filed claims against Qiwi Bank for a total amount of 32.5 billion rubles. Of these, 50 thousand requests were related to electronic wallets, but they accounted for only 500 million rubles.

On February 21, 2024, the Central Bank of Russia revoked Qiwi Bank’s license to conduct banking operations. This was the first time a banking license has been revoked since August 2022. The State Corporation “Deposit Insurance Agency” began paying insurance compensations to Qiwi Bank depositors on February 29.
