“(The technological solution – RB.RU) will allow users of Android and iOS smartphones to pay for their purchases using the usual contactless method. All you have to do is bring the device closer to the payment terminal,” says NSPK.
They added that it is planned to integrate “Volna” into banking applications. According to the developers, the technology will be able to work without the Internet “in combination with a new type of Bluetooth-compatible terminals.”
In addition, unlike NFC, Volna will be able to pay for purchases “at a slightly greater distance” from the terminal, NSPK clarified.

Russian iOS users lost the ability to use contactless payments in March 2022, when Apple disabled the Apple Pay service in the country.
-
As of 2022, Google Pay on Android also does not work in Russia. At the same time, contactless payment is still available for home users of this operating system, since on Android, unlike iOS, there are other payment services with NFC support.
