Computer game developer Surgent Studios, owner of the indie action game Tales of Kenzera: ZAU, has announced that it will suspend operations while it searches for a new publisher. The company temporarily laid off all of its development staff.

As the company explained, it is impossible to complete the project without adequate salaries for employees. A prototype already exists, but an editor is needed to finalize the design and engine, so the game’s release has not yet been confirmed.
The studio, founded by actor Abubakar Salim, who played in Assassin’s Creed and House of Dragons, sees its main goal as creating action games that promote ethnic cultural values. And judging by the high ratings of critics of the gaming market, ZAU coped with this task.
