Even before the covid pandemic began, scientists from the University of Illinois at Chicago analyzed information on deaths from the 1990s of the 20th century to 2019. Countries with the longest life expectancy were included in this study. Including Hong Kong, Australia, France, Italy, Japan, Sweden. It turned out that during this period, people began to live 6.5 years longer.

However, the rate of increase in life expectancy has slowed down noticeably in the last 10 years. The exception is Hong Kong, where people still live for very long periods of time.

The results of a study published in Nature Aging show that in the last few decades, the average life expectancy of men has not exceeded 84 years, while that of women has not exceeded 90 years.

According to experts, life expectancy will stop increasing significantly unless some significant changes occur. And very few people born at the beginning of the 21st century will live to be 100 years old. Most will live 84-90 years at most. This is because we are now approaching the biological limits of average life expectancy.
