The first beta version of iOS 18.2 for developers was released yesterday. The main innovation was the integration of Siri and ChatGPT.
The chatbot itself supports the Russian language, but when making requests via Siri, it does not understand them. The updated Siri requires English to communicate.
However, there is another solution for Russia. In the application Notes You can open a special menu for editing text by tapping on the Apple Intelligence icon. At the bottom of the new menu there is a “Compose” button that redirects you to ChatGPT.
Here you can write requests to the chatbot in English, and it will understand you. The system can process various texts, ready-made documents, and also create images (example above).
To use the new feature, you do not need to log in to your OpenAI account. This is only necessary to save all your requests. To use ChatGPT you do not need a foreign IP address, it is only needed for authorization if you need it.
We are waiting for Apple to add full support for the Russian language to Apple Intelligence.
