The country is “interested in joint film production” with China, because by joining forces it is possible to make “a very good product.” This will help the development of the film business and its entry into new markets.
“This interests us because the Chinese market is very large,” explained the Russian president. In the People’s Republic of China there is a quota for the release of foreign films, “and our artists can do much more,” TASS quotes Putin’s interview with VGTRK journalist Pavel Zarubin.
The president also shared information from Culture Minister Olga Lyubimova about the film that is already being jointly filmed. It is dedicated to the joint history of China and Russia from 1926-1927.
