Experts tested the chip in various games and benchmarks, comparing its results with other existing CPUs. The results were, to put it mildly, unimpressive.
In games like Dragon’s Dogma 2 and F1 2024, the Core Ultra 7 265K is inferior not only to its AMD Ryzen 7800X3D rival, but also to its predecessors in the Intel lineup, including the Core i7-13700K and Core i7-14700K.
In Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail, the lag behind the Ryzen 7800X3D was up to 33%, while in Baldur’s Gate 3 this rate was 24%. In some cases, the chip is even inferior to older models like the Ryzen 5700X3D.
The Core Ultra 7 265K also disappoints in terms of efficiency, with fewer frames per watt compared to the last three generations of AMD processors.
The only plus was relatively good performance in work tasks, where the processor showed results comparable to the Ryzen 9900X.
