Mr. Video-Eldorado has asked the Interior Ministry and the commission of inquiry to take action against the rise of “consumer terrorism” against him, Vedomosti reported.
The company explained the current situation as follows: people buy a product, deliberately spoil it, buy an expert report on the defect, and then, through the courts, receive compensation from the seller, the amount of which exceeds the cost of the product.
The “purchased” tests were issued by laboratories in the Samara region, the company said. They involved iPhones, Samsung Galaxy smartphones and iPad 8 tablets. The findings indicated “network loss”, “inability to turn on the device” and other defects to confirm a manufacturing defect.
Mr Video-Eldorado concluded that the tests were of a formal nature and that the experts’ conclusions were unfounded. The company is now asking law enforcement to initiate criminal proceedings.
