Telegram has been updated to version 11.3.
This update adds a number of improvements and new features, including increased video loading speed. We talk about all the changes below.
Faster loading and improved video quality
When watching videos published on major channels, after updating, the application automatically selects a quality setting depending on the speed of the Internet connection. This allows you to save traffic and load videos faster. You can also manually select the desired quality – low, medium or high.
We’ve also made it easier to switch to Picture-in-Picture mode on iOS – now you just need to drag the open video up.
For users with a weaker Internet connection, the video will automatically open smaller.
Adjusting the transmission speed
Users can instantly mute videos using new gestures without going into settings.
Tap the right side of the screen and press your finger to speed up video playback by 1.5 times – if you swipe right, you can increase the speed by 2.5 times. Release the screen to return to normal speed.
On Android, you can double-tap the trigger or the right side of a video to rewind or forward 10 seconds.
Adding photos to already sent messages
You can now add a photo when editing a message. You no longer have to delete a message and start all over again.
You can also replace the media in a post with another photo or video when editing.
Time of last message changes
The message menu now shows the time it was edited. If it has been edited more than once, the time of the last modification will be shown.
And little things
• Group and channel owners can now use the new #hashtag@username format. When accessing such a hashtag, publications and stories only from the same chat are presented
• Bots and mini-apps can now receive a portion of official advertising revenue. Official advertisements are unobtrusive and keep users’ personal data confidential, content creators and developers can receive 50% of the revenue from advertisements that are displayed on their channels and bots.
• If you want to know exactly the number of hearts (or stars, or pumpkins) that were users of the region under your message, press and hold the counter with the desired reaction.
