According to media reports, this division will explore and standardize the use of artificial intelligence, augmented reality and virtual reality in the company’s work. Jamie Voris, former CTO of Studios Technology, will lead the new team. Voris will report to Disney Entertainment co-chairman Alan Bergman.
Bergman emphasized the importance of responsible use of artificial intelligence and XR, noting that advances in these areas are fundamentally changing the consumer experience and the creative industry. Disney’s existing AI and XR projects will continue to operate independently, but the new office will support and align them with “Disney’s overall strategic objectives.”
