Scientists tracked how emotions in training data affected the performance of large and popular models. The analysis showed that even the most advanced AI systems can make biased decisions if trained on data that contains an emotional component. This is especially true in economic games like The Dictator and The Prisoner’s Dilemma.

Scientists have also found that strong emotions such as anger or fear can change the behavior of neural networks, making them less willing to cooperate in cooperative games or making decisions unpredictable in ethical dilemmas.
