Apple is developing a new smartphone, codenamed iPhone 17 Air, which will be much thinner than the latest iPhones.

But it looks like Apple won’t be able to make it as secure as it would like. The engineers planned to use a battery with a thinner substrate, but it turned out to be too expensive, so they had to use a standard battery.

As a result, the battery will not be as protective as Apple originally intended. These companies increase the thickness of the case to accommodate a conventional battery that is about 6mm thick. This means that the thickness of the smartphone battery is approximately 7-8 mm.

The most secure iPhone in history was the 6.9mm thick iPhone 6. The iPhone 16 has a thickness of 7.8 mm, the iPhone 16 Pro is 8.25 mm.
