Google Photos will undergo another visual change. The app now makes the Status Bar translucent during navigation. It seems that the new feature will be distributed first to Pixel mobile phones.
The change in the interface is confidential and does not bring any changes to usabilityAlthough it is a useful addition in terms of readability. According to website 9to5GoogleThe review is on version 7.7 of Google Photos.
Before the change, the Status Bar was displayed completely transparently in Google Photos. As highlighted on the website, this design choice caused some inconvenience. mainly because it makes system elements harder to read (e.g. battery percentage, clock and notification icons) in some cases.
It’s now translucent, Navigation Bar does not hinder readability of content displayed below it. In this way, the user can check information from the section regardless of the photo palette in the gallery.
Typically Android apps avoid such visual clutter by adopting a completely opaque Status Bar. Although not visually appealing is the best solution to ensure readability of content.
Now, innovation seems to be slowly dissipating For all Google Photos users on Pixel phones. It is unknown whether the change will also reach other devices.
