The Danish supplier of fish and shellfish, the Espersen fishing group of companies, announced the closure of a plant in Veliky Novgorod.

Fish, shrimp supplier to ex-McDonald’s closes plant in Russia

Company director Beyer Nielsen told the Danish radio group DR:

“We have decided to close. We prefer to use our powers elsewhere. Doing business in Russia in the next few years will be extremely difficult."

The Espersen Group decided to temporarily suspend the plant in March, when a total of 91 Russian workers were sent home with their salaries. Now the company is finally getting out of the market.

For Russia, this means that the supply of fish to the restaurants of the former McDonald's network will be stopped. The products of this particular company were used in the preparation of fish patties and shrimp rolls.

Therefore, not only potatoes, but also fish are now threatened in the new network "Vkusno, and that's all."
