Previously, journalist Dmitry Kolezev (recognized as a foreign agent) published on Telegram an alleged letter from the Central Bank sent to Russian banks, in which it was stated that within the framework of Roskomnadzor exercises, “a scenario will be developed to prevent access to the foreign segment.” of the Internet in certain regions.” The document states that the exercises will take place in December 2024.

Roskomnadzor said that “verification of the availability of key systems to ensure the stability of the Russian segment of the Internet” is carried out every year, in accordance with government decree No. 1316 of October 12, 2019. “The schedule of the exercises is approved by the Ministry of Digital Development in agreement with the FSB and Roskomnadzor,” the press service noted.

They added that the control will not affect Internet access for ordinary users. The goal of the exercises, which are carried out together with telecom operators, is to “confirm the readiness of the Russian infrastructure to ensure the availability of key domestic and foreign services in the event of a deliberate shutdown of the Russian Internet segment from the abroad”. ”, indicated the RKN.
