There are still a number of constructivist residential complexes in Moscow, I try to visit each one while I have the opportunity. The Sushchevka neighborhood was built in 1927-1929 according to the design of the architect Boris Blokhin. The residential area is located in Maryina Roshcha and consists of seven houses.

I’m sorry, I was. Here it is on the map: Suschevsky Val street, 14/22 buildings 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 (demolished), 7. Instead of building 6, there is now a new glass building with a different address – Suschevsky Val, 12. The neighboring building 5 was rebuilt and rebuilt. I did not identify him as constructivist and I did not photograph him. In general, the Sushchevsky residential complex has the status of an identified object of cultural importance.

The main building, building 7, faces Suschevsky Val, blocking the rest of the houses from the road. There is an arch in the central part. The architecture is interesting, it seems constructivist, but there are decorative elements.

In 1934, a monument to Kirov was erected. The bust has survived to this day and looks pretty decent. In Soviet times, the huge Kirovsky district of Moscow began here, stretching from the current Dostoevskaya metro station to the Moscow Ring Road. It turns out that Kirov is a pseudonym, the real name of the revolutionary is Kostrikov. I did not know. On the following photos is building number 4, along which there is a green alley.

Look how small the balconies are. All the houses are different, in the rest the balconies are of normal size. Judging by the beam lintel, there was a window above the doorway, now it’s blocked. This is building number 3.

The neighborhood is made up of houses of different heights: five, six and seven floors. Initially, there were no elevators, they were added later. The internal layout is made on the basis of the typical sections of the “Mossovet”, however, some of the apartments are original. I would love to visit the interior.
