Turkish company FLO Retailing and Lebanese Azadea Group are in talks to buy the Russian assets of the Decathlon sporting goods chain. The participants in the transaction are considering two options for the purchase, Vedomosti learned.

Turkish FLO Retailing and Lebanese Azadea Group may buy Decathlon’s Russian assets

The first involves the opening of all Decathlon stores in a franchise format, and the second involves the closure of various points of sale. The contract will be concluded no earlier than autumn 2023.

  • The French chain of sporting goods stores Decathlon has suspended its operations in Russia from March 29, 2022 due to supply difficulties.
  • In January 2023, it became known about Decathlon’s plans to sell the Russian business: the total amount of the company’s assets is estimated at 13-15 million rubles.
