Filion is charged with four counts of interstate threats, each of which could carry up to five years in prison. The investigation was based on digital traces left on Telegram and Discord, and Filion was also identified with the help of private investigator Brad Dennis. Filion’s “attack operations” affected schools across the country, causing significant “financial and emotional” losses, especially in Washington, where his fake threats affected more than 18,000 students.
Although Filion was arrested in Florida in 2023, he continued his activities after his home was raided. The Department of Justice condemned his actions, emphasizing that “those who threaten public safety with false threats must be held accountable.”
