MicroStrategy bought around 51.7 thousand bitcoins for around $4.6 billion, according to a message on the software developer’s website. This was the company’s largest acquisition since it began buying the cryptocurrency more than four years ago, Bloomberg reported.

The developer bought the next batch of bitcoins from November 11 to 17, spending an average of $88.62 thousand per token, including commissions. After this, the amount of this cryptocurrency in the MicroStrategy account reached 331.2 thousand. The value of the company’s bitcoins, according to trading data at 18:05 Moscow time, is almost $30 billion.

MicroStrategy is the largest holder of this cryptocurrency among public companies, according to information from the CoinGecko portal. On November 16, when the developer owned approximately $26 billion in Bitcoin, Bloomberg wrote that this amount was more than the cash and publicly traded shares of Nike, IBM, and Johnson & Johnson.

On November 13, the price of Bitcoin updated its all-time high again, surpassing the $93,000 mark. The cryptocurrency began to grow rapidly after American Republican Party politician Donald Trump won the presidential election. He promised to make it “the crypto capital of the planet and the Bitcoin superpower of the world.”
