The first case was announced on Reddit a few days ago. The user said that he heard a man’s voice as if he were talking on the phone, even though no application was open on the device at that moment. Moreover, a car accident was mentioned in the monologue. A few days later, another user shared a similar story: He heard outside conversations through his iPhone even though all apps were closed.
Although Apple does not make an official statement, users are trying to independently find an explanation for what is happening. Many have suggested that a bug in the recently released iOS 18 could be the reason. Some have even put forward exotic theories, including the possibility of exposure to carbon monoxide causing auditory hallucinations.
