The Ministry of Digital Development is discussing with operators the possibility of banning the connection of subscribers to SMS messages during phone calls, said the head of the Ministry of Digital Development, Maksut Shadayev, at the conference “Customer Safety Comes First,” organized jointly with Vedomosti and Beeline.
This should reduce the risk of fraud. For example, protecting confidential information, including verification codes.
The Ministry of Digital Development is discussing with operators a ban on sending SMS during a voice connection. You can set up these rules with network operators so that SMS arrives after the call.

As the minister noted, a package of 30 measures to combat fraud and a ban on sending SMS during calls may become one of the norms included in the future bill.
Deputy Head of the Ministry of Digital Development Alexander Shoitov added that as part of the national project “Data Economy”, which begins next year, a unified system will most likely be launched to combat cyber fraud.
Attackers use different methods to deceive, so the Ministry of Digital Development, together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Central Bank and other market participants are creating platforms that unite all systems: “Antifraud” to combat fraudulent calls, “Anti-Phishing” to protect against fake sites, “Multiscanner” to check sites for viruses and so on.
In the future, the platform will be able to connect to instant messengers and detect deepfakes. [Ведомости]
