South Korean manufacturer Samsung is expected to launch the “Fan Edition” version of a foldable smartphone for the first time in 2025. The information comes from Ross Young, an industry professional who often has hot insight into the behind-the-scenes of the market.

According to a post by Young on X, Samsung has a Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE next year. The Flip model should be a redesigned version of the clamshell device, but it doesn’t necessarily mean a more accessible device in terms of price.

According to Young, the model will likely be similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition, a more powerful variant that the company recently launched. Besides, the screen should be the same as the traditional Z Flip 7but items as below camera and processor need to be replaced.

There is no official information or other rumors about the model so far. Samsung’s traditional foldable devices are usually introduced in Julyduring The FE version of the Galaxy S series will be released between September and October – if indeed true, an indication of the likely launch window of the new variant.

Samsung’s mobile phone market in 2025

Samsung’s first smartphone launch next year will take place in the first few days of January. Speculations suggest that the first week of 2025 should be chosen for the announcement of the Galaxy S25 series.

The company also plans to launch the “Slim” version of its mobile phone family months later. This model has a reduced thickness and should also offer changes to the internal configurations to become thinner.

Both these future models and the brand’s latest launches will support artificial intelligence (AI) features, including the new Bixby powered by Galaxy AI tools and new functions, in addition to the One UI 7 interface currently in testing.
