NILEQ Neuromorphic Camera mimics the human retina by capturing changes in brightness rather than full images, reducing the amount of data produced and increasing speed. The camera tracks changes in the terrain as the drone moves, and algorithms convert this data into a digital “relief fingerprint” that is then compared to a database of satellite images.

By combining visual data from a neuromorphic camera and an INS, drones can regularly recalibrate their position, improving accuracy over long distances and over time. Real-time data processing and terrain detection allow the device to navigate without relying on GPS signals.

Commercial flight tests are planned for later this year and production is expected in mid-2025.
