The publisher’s first book, No Prize for Pessimism by Microsoft Acting CTO Sam Schillas, has already been published and is dedicated to optimism in technology development. Former Microsoft vice president Marcus Fontoura’s second book, Platform Mindset, is expected to be released later this year.

Initially, the publication will be aimed at a Microsoft-related audience but is “open to third-party authors.” Topics will include the future of technology, productivity, and public issues in law and ethics.

Profits will be used to support non-profit organizations through Microsoft Philanthropies. The initiative also plans to revive “out-of-print but important works.”
