The total area of confiscated land, business centers and shopping complexes, according to RBC estimates, exceeds 1.5 million square meters. m In particular, the Gorbushkin Dvor shopping centers with an area of 60 thousand square meters became state property. m. and “Filion” (122 thousand m2), as well as the Cherry Tower office complex (120 thousand m2) on Profsoyuznaya Street, the publication writes.

Khotin’s lawyer, Pavel Khlustov, told RBC that the court did not wait for the decision to come into force and executed it immediately. However, no assessment of the market value of the nationalized objects was carried out. Furthermore, according to Khlustov, Khotin is not the owner of the confiscated assets and the FSSP did not provide any compensation to their “true owners.”

The businessman’s lawyer also pointed out a possible violation of the exclusive jurisdiction rule, which requires that property rights cases be considered only in the court in whose territorial jurisdiction it is located. The FSSP requested the confiscation of 27 objects located in different areas of Moscow.

The Gorbushkin Dvor hypercenter has been owned by MTZ Rubin JSC since 2017, and the same legal entity is listed as one of the defendants in the FSSP lawsuit. According to Vedomosti, the shopping center was sold by Alexey Khotin to Pharmstandard shareholder Viktor Kharitonin, but the deal was nominal and Khotin retained control over the shopping center. In October 2022, experts interviewed by the newspaper estimated the facility and land at between 9 billion and 11 billion rubles.

On November 13, the Moscow City Court approved the sentence of Khotin in the case of embezzlement of more than 23 billion rubles from the Ugra Bank to nine years of imprisonment in a general regime colony. In his last word, Khotin announced that he was willing to go to the zone of special military operations in Ukraine and said that he had fully reimbursed the damage caused in the criminal case. In May 2023, the Zamoskvoretsky court, at the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office, recovered 192.15 billion in unpaid taxes from the businessman.

According to investigators, in 2014-2017, Khotin, together with accomplices from the top management of Ugra, stole 23.6 billion rubles from his own company and lent them to his own companies. None of the defendants in the case admitted guilt. In 2019, Forbes estimated Khotin’s fortune at $700 million.
