The director of the Azimuth airline, Eduard Teplitsky, explained to TASS the delay of the Superjet in Saransk due to problems with ground equipment. The plane was due to fly to St. Petersburg at 2:05 p.m. Moscow time, according to data on the local airport’s website.

“The problem is not with the plane, there is a problem with the ground equipment. There is an air launch facility, a defect has been discovered in it; it does not provide the pressure necessary for launch,” Teplitsky explained.
He clarified that the airport staff is solving the problem and that the plane will take off from Saransk in the near future.
Earlier, the Baza Telegram channel reported that Azimuth's flight was delayed for several hours. According to him, the Superjet cannot take off due to engine failure. The channel wrote that passengers were on board and complained of congestion, even though the air conditioning was working.
The general director of Saransk International Airport JSC (the operator of the local air port), Alexander Kistaikin, told TASS that there were 95 people on the plane, including three children. The senior manager clarified that “everything is fine” with the passengers and the airline is not asking them to disembark.
On November 24, two incidents occurred with the Azimuth Superjet. First, one of the planes landed at the Krasnoyarsk airport due to problems with the hydraulic system, and then the second ship made a forced landing in Antalya, as a result of which the jet fuel caught fire. The airline said it was due to uncontrolled wind shear.
Following the incident in Turkey, the Investigative Committee opened a case under part 1 of article 263 of the Criminal Code (violation of traffic safety rules and operation of air transport).
