The largest producers of dairy products, after negotiations with retail chains and regulators, agreed to reduce prices for socially important products. This was reported to Izvestia by a market source and confirmed by company representatives.

Molvest, EkoNiva, Renna and other manufacturers will reduce prices. According to Molvest CEO Anatoly Losev, suppliers and retailers agreed to highlight several items of affordable products, the prices of which will drop at the end of the year. The deal could be extended early next year depending on market conditions.
“These are milk in economical containers with 2.5% fat, the price of which will be reduced by approximately 10%, and peasant butter with 72% fat, the price of which will be reduced by between 7% and 10%. Additionally, we ask the chains to reduce their profit margin by approximately 5%,” Losev said.
The Renna group reported that price reductions for a wide range of products in stores will begin on the eve of the New Year holidays. Butter and condensed milk of the Korovka and Alekseevskoye brands will be sold at a discount of up to 10%. EkoNiva reported that on November 1, the 5% oil price reduction began in large retail chains.
The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) stated that the stores of the X5 group (Pyaterochka, Perekrestok, etc.), as well as Auchan, Magnit and Dixie, are ready to expand the list of items, the maximum margin of which does not exceed 5%-10% . For example, Auchan will reduce prices on 208 items in 31 categories for three months with the possibility of extension.
At the same time, the Metro, Lenta, Maria Ra and Monetka networks refused to reduce prices, the FAS noted.
According to Rosstat, the consumer price index for the week of November 19-25 was 0.36%, down from 0.37% the previous week. In annual terms, inflation accelerated from 8.68% to 8.78%, as can be seen from the Ministry of Economic Development’s analysis of the current price situation, published on November 27.
Previously, the government approved a resolution according to which regional authorities will be able to negotiate with producers and retailers to stabilize prices not only for essential food products, but also for “any other good important to the population.”
