I’ve been following the news in the field of generative and language neural networks for several years – it is a hot topic throughout the industry, and now almost all technology companies are focused on it.

So, the brightest news of 2024 in this area was not ChatGPT and everything connected with it. This was the public release of each DeepSeek V3 neural network. This ChatGPT’s most serious competitor to date. It works great in English, if that’s the case.

The piquancy includes a few more facts. Firstly, anyone can download the entire neural network and install it directly on their computer. True, the requirements for the computer will be prohibitive; with a 99% probability you do not have suitable hardware.

Secondly, DeepSeek is available from Russia without any restrictions. And now (thirdly) you can download the client neural network directly to iPhone and Android as of yesterday: free, unlimited, including from the Russian App Store.

What is DeepSeek and where did it come from?
