It was named the Cosmonaut Training Center. Yu.A. Gagarin (CPC) announced the creation of a new simulator for the manned transport ship (PTK NP). The first example of the simulator, which will allow simulating various stages of flight such as takeoff, orbital maneuvers, descent and landing, is planned to be produced in the summer of 2024. As reported by the Training and Control Center, the simulator will operate in an unmanned version, and its functions will include studying the design of the ship, working with the landing hatch, operator seat and stabilization system.

As the center emphasizes, this simulator will become the basis of manned flight training, since all the first tests of new generation spacecraft are carried out in unmanned mode. The creation of a simulator for PTK NP will also help form the basis of future training of astronauts, since the operator’s workplace will include all the necessary modules for training in operating the basic systems of the spacecraft. The project must be completed by June 2025.

Roscosmos is developing PTK NP for missions to the Russian Orbital Station (ROS) and flights beyond low orbit. The first flight of the new spacecraft is expected to take place in 2028-2029, while astronaut recruitment for manned flights will begin in 2024-2025. The creation of simulators to prepare crews for future flights is also currently underway.
