An expert has warned against malware targeting mobile devices. Such viruses can block gadgets, steal personal data, write off money from cards and arbitrarily change the application list. They often infiltrate through phishing sites, dubious application stores or letter attachments, but infection can be prevented if you follow a number of simple rules, says Ilya Kazakov, technical director of the MTS Urent Power Banks service.
The expert recommends installing a reliable antivirus and regularly updating the operating system, as new versions often contain security improvements. It also recommends avoiding apps with questionable terms of use or excessive data access. It is especially important to carefully check permissions before installation to prevent the virus from accessing personal information.
For additional protection, Kazakov recommends turning off Bluetooth and Wi-Fi when not in use and being wary of phishing attacks, which are less noticeable on mobile devices due to the small screen. It also recommends minimizing the transfer of personal information to third-party services to reduce the possibility of leaks.
