“In the visa centers of France, Italy, Spain, Hungary and Greece in Moscow there are more free spaces and visa processing times have also decreased. In December, in the capital, you will be able to register to present documents at the visa centers of almost all of these countries, which are among the five most popular among Russian tourists,” the tour operator BSI Group reported.
ATOR also announced the timing of Schengen registration. For Hungary, this means an average of three weeks, the Italian consulate in Moscow has reduced the document review period to 20 days, the French diplomatic mission issues visas in three weeks and the Spanish consulate in two or three.
In mid-October, Kommersant wrote that the Russian Union of the Travel Industry (RST) proposed creating a state guarantee fund for outbound tourism, from which up to 100 rubles would be deducted for each foreign trip sold.
PCT hopes that the fund will become an alternative to existing insurance and personal liability funds for tour operators: in the event of bankruptcy, it will be possible to pay tourists with the money raised.
