TikTok had hoped to halt enforcement of the law while appealing to the US Supreme Court. The company pointed out that new President Donald Trump may take a different stance on the application compared to his previous comments. However, the court rejected the request, deciding that the delay was “unfair”.
Now TikTok’s future in the US depends on whether the Supreme Court hears the case. TikTok plans to “continue the fight”, stressing that the ban could “silence” more than 170 million American users.
