Apple has rule. More precisely, this “rule” was invented by fans who are looking for a higher meaning at every stage of the company. It goes like this: Expect Cupertino to be deliberately slow to embrace cutting-edge technologies and ideas. And I hope that others will make mistakes first, and then Apple will come and “show everyone how it’s done.” It even got to the point where Apple top executives announced the positions.

If this rule existed before, it has ceased to apply in the last few years. There is no other way to explain Vision Pro, much less Apple Intelligence. This is against the backdrop of absolutely all the decisions of most other smartphone manufacturers and, especially, Google, the release of Apple Intelligence is laughter through tears.

These two words were constantly firmly stated at the presentation of the iPhone 16 (and now also the new Mac on M4), Apple has not actually announced by December 2024 Nothingwhich can seriously be considered a full-fledged, modern neural network in a smartphone…

Apple Intelligence at its best

Just the facts. December 2024, what we have.

Smart summary of futility protocol. If it’s not harmful! The AI there regularly makes mistakes, making seriously incorrect conclusions. The Internet is laughing at how Apple Intelligence is divorcing families and turning off hazard warning signs for people.

In the application Mail The situation is no better: spam regularly marks the obligatory letter of the day and flies into the program’s header, and along with them – letters from scammers and phishers imitating official notifications from Apple.

Siri is still stupid. There is no other word that could describe this assistant. Apart from recommendations from ChatGPT, the assistant is still not updated. At the same time, because of the new animation, 90% of iPhone users think that they are communicating with Apple Intelligence, and laugh heartily at the shamefulness of the results.

What was the logic behind adding this animation before the release of AI, other than empty marketing, is unknown.

Image Children’s playground (Venue) – a useless toy at one time. The images that are there can compete in quality with neural networks from two years ago. Even the generation of the first Masterpiece from Yandex made the image better. Emoji generation (Genmoji) unless it works fine. But how many times do you use it before you forget that this feature even exists?

Apple Intelligence has a bad attitude. The top post in the /r/iPhone community on Reddit is a joke about a secret feature of the iPhone 16: if you open the Image Playground, the iPhone can be used as a heating pad in winter. Same thing on my iPhone 15 Pro Max. Moreover, for at least half an hour after activating Siri or generating images, the iPhone simply slows down in all tasks. Finally, from personal experience, turning off AI in Settings returns 10 percent of the device’s battery life.

No language support. With Russians freely communicating with ChatGPT and other neural networks, any computer user can offline run any of the 150 LLM model ads with controversial but still relative support for Russian, Apple offers only English to everyone with a promise to launch only a few other languages throughout next year.

Apple Intelligence actually works on older devices. Apple’s hardware limitations have actually been worked out: the craftsmen not only allowed Apple Intelligence to work on the company’s already ancient devices, like the iPad 8 (2020!) with 3 gigabytes of RAM, but also presented everything necessary so that everyone could be convinced of this. Sur.

Apple Intelligence doesn’t sell new gadgets Apple. Despite all the advertising efforts, sales of new iPhones are driven by completely different factors. Moreover, there is evidence that the pace of implementation in general is no longer satisfactory for the company. It’s strange why this is (not).

The list goes on! But why? In fact, check out Apple Intelligence for graphics comparisons. Because the general attitude towards him both here, in our country, and in the world is absolutely uniform and known to everyone. Nobody needs him, period. A few useful features in iOS 18, a kind of “calculator” in notes, a complex assessment of the merits of the AI project as a whole.

So, returning to the original mantra – that the one who laughs last wins. If so, then Apple has already won. True, they laugh at Apple Intelligence, but you yourself use Apple technology.

There is a simple reason for this disastrous and unreasonably extended release. Apple’s top managers long ago failed the Siri project as an assistant. Almost the entire brain ignored the neural network trend – perhaps in hopes of a “revolutionary”, tortured multi-billion dollar Vision Pro project. And when it became clear that it was not working, they forced all the teams inside to literally give birth to the product and launched the result with half a kick, like the sweet singing of marketers.

I don’t think that by the summer or even the fall of 2025, attitudes towards Apple Intelligence will change in any way towards deviation. All the functionality that was announced in the summer of 2024 and will be released by this time does not cause concern among most users – and is already significantly behind the progress of other companies, including Google and even Samsung.

Against this background, it is sad to read information that the development of iOS 19 is in trouble due to the rush of the Apple team to release the promised Apple Intelligence features in the next versions of iOS 18.

Maybe, well him?
