“Google and YouTube are among the few platforms left in Russia that offer access to free, independent information. “We are aware of reports that some people are unable to access YouTube in Russia,” Google said.
They noted that the difficulties encountered with access to video hosting “are not the result of any technical problem or action” on the part of the company.
According to official Google statistics, on December 23, YouTube traffic in Russia fell below 20% of the average values.
