Manufacturers sent notifications to retail chains about increasing beer sales prices from January 1, 2025, Kommersant reported citing letters. The decision was due, among other things, to high inflation and the official interest rate of the Central Bank, said the brewers interviewed by the publication.

The notifications were sent by AB InBev Efes, Medovarus, the Belarusian company Krinitsa-Trade and the distributor Gosseline Logistics. The letters do not specify the magnitude of the increase in sales prices; The companies did not comment on the matter.
In a conversation with Kommersant, retailers noted that most manufacturers and suppliers plan to increase sales prices for beer by 9-10% starting in the new year.
The first to increase prices was the United Brewery holding company (formerly Heineken), owner of Three Bears, Okhota and other brands. In November, the company notified retailers that the wholesale cost of its products had increased by an average of 9.8%.
Alexey Nebolsin, an independent expert on the beer market, predicts that in the first half of 2025 brewers will be able to increase prices by an average of 15%. Of them, 4.5% will be the cost of the excise tax, which will increase for manufacturers from January 1, 2025, added the specialist.
It is precisely the increase in tariffs in the budget that manufacturers and suppliers mainly explain by the indexation of sales prices, writes Kommersant. AB InBev Efest (brands Klinskoye, Abbe and others) informed retailers that in almost a week in 2025, excise duty on beer with a concentration of 0.5 to 8.6 degrees will increase from 27 rubles to 30 rubles per liter , in drinks with a concentration 8.6 degrees higher: from 51 rubles to 56 rubles per liter.
Medovarus added that from January the excise tax on cider, poire and mead will increase by 4 rubles, up to 30 rubles per liter.
AB InBev Efes, among other factors that influence the increase in prices, mentioned the high interest rate of the Central Bank and inflation, which causes the cost of raw materials and packaging to rise.
Gosselin Logistics informs its counterparties that costs for brewers and distributors have increased, in particular due to the increase in freight transportation in Russia and the weakening of the ruble, so imported products have automatically become more expensive.
