Medical phantoms are durable and realistic models used to train professionals and install devices. They help develop manipulation skills during diagnostic tests and allow you to prepare equipment for procedures. These developments have already found practical application, and a prostate phantom has recently been presented.

Moscow Deputy Mayor Anastasia Rakova stated that the new prostate phantom is especially important in increasing the availability of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Previously, they had to set up an MRI machine with the participation of patients with metal implants, and this took a lot of time. This adjustment can now be made in advance using a phantom, significantly speeding up the inspection process.

Yuri Vasiliev, head of the Diagnostic and Telemedicine Center, explained that the new development will help eliminate errors caused by metal hip implants and speed up the MRI process.
