FAS is interested in information on the procedure for transporting products, data on persons providing transport services, as well as transport volumes and rates.

“The analysis will affect the entire supply chain of popular brands of butter and bread, as well as all lines of potato products,” they said in the FAS press service. The Antimonopoly Service will evaluate the impact of transportation costs on the cost of these products for the final consumer.

If violations are detected, response measures will be taken, the FAS added.

Food inflation is growing in Russia. According to Rosstat, the cost of butter has increased by 35.2% since the beginning of the year, flour and bread by 14%, and potatoes have almost doubled in price.
