On the afternoon of December 25, the crowdfunding platform Boosty experienced a failure, according to data from the Downdetector.su portal. In the last hour, the number of complaints reached almost 700 and in 24 hours it exceeded 800.

Messages about problems began to arrive at approximately 17:15 Moscow time. Downdetector.su reported issues with the site, app, and video loading. “Error 504, I can’t access the site,” one user wrote. The editor of RB.RU also had difficulties accessing the service.
The peak of complaints about Boosty’s work occurred at 18:54 Moscow time. At that time, 330 users reported problems. During the last hour, the number of complaints on Downdetector.su almost reached 700, and within 24 hours it exceeded 800.
Most of the complaints about the work of the site came from St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, Moscow and the Moscow Region, the Smolensk Region, the Pskov Region and the Arkhangelsk Region.
Boosty was founded in 2019 by Mail.ru Group (now VK), the service allows authors to monetize their content. In 2022, VK sold the company My.Games, which owns Boosty, to Alexander Chachava, managing partner of LETA Capital. The transaction amount was 642 million dollars.
In 2024, Boosty was purchased by Cypriot businessman Pavel Haraneka. In August 2023, analysts interviewed by Kommersant estimated the value of the platform at between $5 million and $10 million.
