In terms of transaction volume, the leaders were Safe Superintelligence (SSI) from a team of former OpenAI employees, the authors of the infrastructure for AI developers Nebius Group, the creators of the silicon anode for Sila batteries, the service inDrive taxi and the Uzum IT operation. These top five accounted for more than $2.3 billion in funds raised.

As Forbes analysts point out, compared to the figures for 2023 (a total of $571 million for the top 5), 2022 ($874 million) and 2021 ($1.1 billion), this is a record amount investment, especially after the powerful reduction of the previous year.

An analysis of the leading companies in attracting investors’ attention highlights not only the popular areas (AI and IT), but also the fundamental role of recognized influencers in the market. Projects led by accredited professionals have a chance to raise funds: Ilya Sutskever (SSI), Arkady Volozh (Nebius Group) and Arseny Tomsky (inDrive).

Among the top five, the most popular was SSI, which raised $1 billion of the $2.3 billion from the Andreessen Horowitz, Sequoia Capital, DST Global and SV Angel funds, among other investors. Nebius Group’s stake amounted to $700 million, Sila received $375 million in investments, inDrive – $150 million, and Uzum – $114 million.
