As the department points out, almost 1.6 million passenger cars were sold, one and a half times more than in 2023 (45.2% of which were domestically produced). The popularity of electric vehicles increased by 31% (19.39 thousand units were sold).

Sales of “light commercial vehicles” grew by 34%, up to 140.3 thousand. The growth also affected buses, 16% to 20.57 thousand, but did not affect trucks (only 121.56 thousand were sold, 13% less than the previous year). year).

Among the buying cities, the most active were Moscow and the regions (here sales increased by 13% and 7%, respectively), St. Petersburg (6%). Krasnodar Territory and Tatarstan also increased their sales (+5% for each region).

Analysts at the Autostat agency, however, suggest that similar growth cannot be expected in 2025. Sales will fall due to high inflation, rising scrap metal fees, rising rates and lower availability of loans. for automobiles.

Experts also recall that the lack of official supply of new models from world brands continues to affect the state of the automobile market. Some cars will not be available to Russians in 2025.
