In January 2025, the Center for Future Professions and the business social network TenChat conducted a survey among representatives of 500 companies and found out what requirements employers in Russia impose on applicants. Some of the most sought-after qualities and skills include experience, higher education, high learning capacity, and flexibility.

For the majority of applicants, experience and competence are more important than age, this is stated by 64% of respondents, writes Gazeta.Ru, which reviewed the results of the study. However, 36% of employers agreed to give preference to young professionals.
If we talk about education, higher and secondary specialized education have approximately the same demand: 37% and 30%, respectively, and another 21% of respondents say that a diploma is not important to them, but only the experience of the applicant .
40% of those surveyed mentioned their high learning capacity as a determining factor when choosing a candidate. For 20% of voters, knowledge of a foreign language is of fundamental importance. 16% of respondents value initiative at work, and 14% pay attention to experience in similar projects. 11% of employers value all of the following in a potential employee.
On the other hand, company managers highlighted the necessary flexibility of future employees: it was observed both in personal qualities (36% of respondents mentioned it as a key characteristic when hiring) and in professional skills ( 49% of employers demand “soft skills”). .
Initiative and ingenuity are welcomed by only 11% of respondents; Teamwork also takes a backseat (13%). In addition to the already mentioned flexibility, employers are interested in having experience working with modern technologies (17%).
At the same time, managers who hire employees have become more loyal to part-time work (40%) and the “zigzag” career of applicants (57%). Various projects, jobs in various fields, according to businessmen, demonstrate the “observation” of personnel, the ability to establish contacts and demand in the labor market.
Although 42% still do not welcome a sudden change in activity, and 27% still do not believe that the combination can be effective and not distract attention from “main” tasks.
