“A short-term interruption in connectivity has been detected. The operation of the network was quickly restored by the guard services of the Center for Monitoring and Control of the Public Communications Network,” RKN noted.
On January 14, a large-scale failure occurred in the Russian Internet segment, as a result of which subscribers of the largest telecom operators, including MTS, T2, Beeline and Rostelecom, lost access to the Internet.
The T2 press service told RB.RU that the problems on Runet were not related to the operator’s infrastructure. Representatives of Beeline and Rostelecom gave a similar answer and noted that no problems were observed in their networks.
Vedomosti’s source at one of the operators associated the failure with problems with the technical means of countering threats (TSPU) of Roskomnadzor and the Main Radio Frequency Center subordinate to it.
Problems arose “for everyone who worked through Russian operators with TSPU,” said Nikita Tsaplin, CEO of hosting provider Ruvds, in a conversation with Vedomosti. According to him, the messengers were available because the TSPU failure did not affect the protocols they work on.
