Bandai Namco may be the latest major company to fall victim to the notorious ransomware that has become so popular these days. A group specializing in data theft known as ALPHV claims to have managed to hack the gaming company.
The information comes from the “vx-underground” Twitter account. They work by monitoring the actions of malware and malicious hacker groups and gain approval from the ALPHV group, also known as BlackCat.
The ALPHV ransomware group (alternatively referred to as the BlackCat ransomware group) claims to have ransomware of Bandai Namco.

Bandai Namco is famous for games from major franchises such as: dark souls and tekkenand also produces several anime-based games, including Dragon Ball, One Piece, and Naruto. They have yet to officially comment on the alleged data theft.
Ransomware is the name given to malicious programs that “hijack” and encrypt system data. Many authors of such hacks then charge to release the data back, under the threat of making it public if payment is not made. Other major game developers like Capcom, EA and CD Projekt Red have been suffering from the same issue recently.
