He realized that the problem appeared after switching to new device models and changing telecom operators. Other users reported similar issues on different Pixel models and different carriers; some couldn’t fix the problem even with data access.

The gist of the problem is that even when connected to the internet, RCS messages at some point switch to the regular SMS standard and nothing can be done about it.

One user suggested restarting the iPhone, which briefly fixed the problem. There was also a suggestion to disable RCS or the option to fallback to text messages if data is not available but this did not fix the problem.

But several users also suggested resetting network settings on iPhone and restarting the device to fix the problem. And it helped, which indicates a problem on the iPhone side.
