X is not the only one that has started offering US residents alternatives to ByteDance services. Thus, Instagram* announced the launch of the Edit video editor, which, as TechCrunch wrote, is positioned as a direct competitor to ByteDance’s CapCut.
TikTok was banned in the United States on January 19 following a decision by the country’s Supreme Court, which determined that the application threatened national security.
A day later, the service’s developers announced that they had begun to restore its operation, while the president-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, announced plans to resume access to the platform.
