The average bill for a taxi trip in December fell by 0.7% compared to November, to 601 rubles, the analytical center Chek Index reported to RBC. At the same time, in annual terms, the average cost of a trip increased by 12%. The number of taxi trips increased by 6% compared to December 2023.
Moscow remains the leader in spending on taxis: the average bill in the city in December 2024 increased by 11% year-on-year, to 827 rubles, and by 0.5% compared to November 2024. Muscovites began using taxis by 3 % more throughout the year.
Ride prices also increased during the New Year period, a Yandex Taxi representative told the publication. The average bill for a trip during the New Year holidays in Russia was 427 rubles, 8% more than in the same period last year. In Moscow, taxi rides during the holidays have risen in price to 873 rubles, or 15% compared to last season’s prices.
