The general director of the Gloria Jeans clothing chain, Maxim Basov, left the company; his position was taken by Alexander Tarasov, who previously worked at Rusagro, writes Kommersant citing sources from the retail market. In December, RB.RU learned that Basov had opened an individual entrepreneur in the field of computer equipment management.

Gloria Jeans did not respond to Kommersant’s request. Basov and Tarasov declined to comment on the personnel changes.
Basov became CEO of Gloria Jeans in June 2024 and said he intended to restructure the chain into a large international business. Three months later, the top manager received 1% of VVM Investments LLC, owner of Gloria Jeans JSC. This share can subsequently pass to the main owner of the company or the new general director, writes Kommersant.
The top manager could have disagreements with the owner of Gloria Jeans, Vladimir Melnikov, over the future of the company, noted one of Kommersant’s interlocutors. According to another source, Basov will focus on personal projects in the IT field.
In December 2024, RB.RU learned that Basov had registered an individual entrepreneur on November 12, whose main activity was the management of computer equipment. Additional activities include software development, database creation, data processing and IT consulting.
In addition, the businessman owns shares in the online brain training service Vikium LLC, as well as Litnet LLC and Geomiragro LLC, whose activities are related to software development. Basov did not comment on the new individual entrepreneur status for RB.RU.
The new CEO of Gloria Jeans, Tarasov, was CEO of Rusagro from the summer of 2022 to the end of 2024. Before this, the top manager worked at X5 and between 2017 and 2022 he was executive vice president of finance at Gloria Jeans.
